Servite Day is a day where we celebrate our history, our story, our Servites and our community. This year we also celebrated a very special milestone – 50 years of co-education as well as the College’s 65th birthday!
Students and staff commenced the day with a quiz and trip down memory lane. As a College we then gathered on the oval for a celebratory photo before we were visited by the WA Police Pipe Band. The history books tell us that pipe bands were central to the identity of Servite College in the initial years and we gladly continued this tradition.
The Memorial Football Match was then played with two teams made up of Year 12 students and staff, with each captained by our Head Boy and our Head Girl. We welcomed the parents and families of the students who our community has sadly lost over the years and honoured them with one minute silence.
After a very intense match, we then commenced with our Homeroom Stalls which consisted of a variety of food, fun games and activities spread throughout the school. Activities included a silent disco; sumo wrestling; and a dunk tank featuring some brave staff (and even braver students opting to throw the ball!). It was a fun and activity packed afternoon!
Our day concluded with the traditional ‘Servite’s Got Talent’ talent quest. To the surprise of our students, the talent commenced with a staff flash mob! Our college is full of incredible talent and we were privileged to see a taste of this years talent show.
Servite Day 2023 was a day of reflection, honouring and celebrating! It is a day where we all come together in the spirit of the Seven Holy Founders and the Servite Order, in humility and service.
Thank you to all those staff members who organised a truly amazing day and to the students for helping make the day a memorable one.
