Topic Stewardship
Date March 3, 2023

I would like to extend a warm welcome to everyone as we begin a new school year. I hope this newsletter finds you well and that you have all had a great start to the academic year.

I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our students on the way they have commenced their studies this year. I have been extremely impressed with their positive attitude towards school and their willingness to engage in their studies. I have no doubt that this will lead to a successful and fulfilling academic year for all.

As we begin this new school year, I would like to take a moment to update you on some of the events that have taken place since we returned to school.

College Events

We have had a busy start to the year with a range of exciting events including the Year 12 ball, Year 7 and 12 information evenings, San Clemente Feast day, Chop for Charity, and the College Assembly celebrating our 2022 High Achievers. I would like to extend my congratulations to all those who have been involved in these events, and thank our staff for their hard work in making them possible.

We also recently held our Interpriory swimming carnival, which was a great success. All individual scores and the winning Priory will be announced soon.

Our Holy Founders Community Twilight Mass was also a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a community and reflect on our school’s history and values and I thank those families who attended.

Our students have been actively involved in Lent and Ash Wednesday services, as well as Year 7 Camp, Nannup music camp, and NAS Sport.

In addition to these events, we were honoured to host the state-wide Project Compassion WA launch for Caritas Australia which you can read more about here.

Uniform Policy & Update

As we settle into the new school year, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you of the importance of adhering to our school uniform policy. Our uniform policy is an essential aspect of our school community and instills a sense of pride and commitment in our students.  I would like to request that you take some time to speak to your children about the standard of uniform and ensure that they are complying with our policy regarding haircuts, shaving, makeup and jewellery.

I believe that as parents and guardians you play a vital role in reinforcing our school’s values and expectations, and I urge you to support us in maintaining the high standard of uniform and appearance that we expect from our students.

I am pleased to inform you that our school’s new uniform items are currently being finalized, and we will soon have them available for purchase. We are excited to introduce new items to our uniform wardrobe that will offer both practicality and style for our students.  We anticipate having the new items available in time for the winter season this year, and we will keep you informed of any updates regarding the availability of the new uniform items.

Executive Leadership Team

As announced last year, we have welcomed new members to our Executive Leadership Team. We will be writing more about our executive members in the coming months but I’d like to officially welcome our new Vice Principal, Gary Bailey to the Servite community. You can read more about Gary in his welcome letter here.

Open Day

We will be holding an Open Day on Thursday, 23 March 2023 from 9.30am until 11.00am. This is an opportunity for us to showcase our wonderful community and for prospective families to experience a day in the life of our school. Click here for all the information.

Front Office Hours

Please note that our front office reception hours are now 8.00am – 4.00pm.

It’s been an exciting start to the year, and I am thrilled to see our students getting involved and making the most of the opportunities available to them. I look forward to seeing what the rest of the year brings, and to working together to make it a great success.

Thank you for your continued support and commitment to our school community.
