On Thursday, 19 June our College came together to celebrate the feast day of one of our Patron Saints, St Juliana Falconieri.
We celebrated Mass in the morning with Fra Peter, Fra Myles and Fra Albert. Sr Chitra joined us representing the Servite Sisters. During the Mass, we heard about the life of St Juliana who was a courageous woman, challenging the social norms of her time.
Born into a wealthy family in Florence, she rejected marriage and materialism, instead choosing to live a life of service, serving the poor and sick on the streets of Florence. Her devotion to our Mother Mary and the Eucharist as well as her life of service, attracted other women to her and so St Juliana founded the order of the Servite Sisters.
We also watched a wonderful video on the Servite Sisters which gave us a rare and heart-warming insight into their work, passion and personal stories.
During the Mass we were challenged to serve others with humility, restoring justice in our community and in our world.
