Our Year 8 Humanities class went on a fun coastal excursion! Thank you to Eliana (OLS1) for her summary of the day below:
The Year 8s went on a coastal walk excursion with two group walking from either Trigg beach to Sorrento or from Sorrento beach to Trigg. The main goal of the excursion was to identify coastal processes, formation, and defence systems along the Perth coastline.
On the beach walk the Year 8s learnt many ways that the coastline is protected from flooding and ways the Western Australian coastline is protected by the groynes, sandbags, headlands, bays and sand dunes.
This excursion was very information for us and a great way to learn about the Perth coastline and how we can help to defend it!
