I enjoyed being part of the Northwest Trip which I did in either Year 11 or 12 – heading to outback stations and finally arriving in Exmouth with other classmates was a real adventure. This was a fun trip, and I hope that Servite continues to provide students the opportunity to attend these types of opportunities.
I am a General Practitioner with a special interest in Aboriginal Health and sexually transmitted infections/blood borne viruses. I was most recently the Deputy Medical Director and then CEO of an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation – but in recent months stepped away from this executive role and decided to look for more excitement in the clinical space. I am working as a General Practitioner and serving as Deputy Chair of the Blood Borne Virus and Sexually Transmitted Advisory Group for Western Australia, amongst other committees and working groups.
After graduating from Servite College, I studied medicine at the University of Western Australia, worked as a doctor, and then I studied Dentistry. During Covid, I returned to medicine and trained as a General Practitioner – which has been very fulfilling – providing advocacy for Aboriginal health and sexually transmitted infections on both a state and national level. I have had a few awards that have left me very humbled including WA General Practitioner in Training of the Year, Indigenous Doctor of the Year and in 2025, NAIDOC Person of the Year.
I keep busy with my friends and family – but I do enjoy a bit of golf – particularly spending cold mornings at the Wembley driving range.
