During my school years at Servite Collage, I developed a strong interest in cooking, woodwork, and mathematics. High school presented me with several challenges, as I was placed in the Special Education Program from Years 8 to Year 11 due to learning difficulties. However, through perseverance and consistent effort, I transitioned back into mainstream classes in Year 12. This experience demonstrated to me that with determination and hard work, I can overcome obstacles and achieve my goals.
After graduating from Servite College in 2004, I explored a range of career paths before finding my calling in both the culinary arts and being able to serve to my country. In 2010, I joined the Royal Australian Navy as a Chef, and this year I proudly celebrate 15 years of continuous service.
My commitment to lifelong learning and self-discipline helped me to achieve my greatest career accomplishment of being accepted in the Royal Australian Navy. That mindset carried me through a baking and chef apprenticeship, Naval training, and eventually one of the most demanding paths in the military – earning my Submariner Dolphins.
Becoming a Submariner—part of the Navy’s elite “silent service”— required me to learn over 100 technical systems aboard a submarine. In 2014, I earned my Dolphins, joining a global brotherhood recognized throughout Navy’s worldwide. Since then, I’ve completed multiple operational deployments across the globe, served aboard ships and submarines, and lived experiences most can only imagine.
But above all, I’m a proud husband and father. My family is my anchor. Every mission, every sacrifice, every milestone has been driven by the desire to build a better life for them.
My career is a testament to growth, discipline and service to country.
