From the Principal

As we reach the halfway point of Term 2, I would like to take this opportunity to thank our students, staff, and families for making this term such a vibrant and rewarding one so far. It has been a fantastic few weeks, full of learning, engagement, and meaningful experiences that reflect the spirit and values of Servite College.

From classroom incursions that have brought learning to life, to adventurous sailing expeditions that have tested resilience and teamwork, our students have enjoyed a wide range of opportunities that extend beyond the traditional classroom. These experiences enrich their learning and foster the development of the whole person, in line with our vision in becoming all we were created to be.

At our recent College Assembly, I shared an important message with our students about what makes our community truly special. I reminded them that a strong community is built through the actions of every individual — that the community you contribute to is the community you live in. We all have a role in shaping the tone and culture of our school. Respect, kindness, and inclusion must underpin everything we do. These qualities are not just part of being a student here — they are core to what it means to be a Servite.

I also encouraged our students to take pride in their behaviour, to be thoughtful of others, and to approach each day with empathy and integrity. These reminders, while simple, are foundational as we grow together as a faith-centred learning community inspired by the example of Mary, Mother of Servants.

Year 11 and 12 Students

Our Year 11 and 12 students have just completed their first round of examinations for the year. We commend them for their dedication and the mature way they have approached their studies. Sitting exams is not only a test of knowledge, but a challenge in resilience and discipline, and our students should be proud of their efforts. At the same time, other Year 11 and 12 students have also been participating in workplace learning programs. These real-world experiences provide invaluable insight into future career pathways, and we are grateful to the businesses and organisations that have welcomed our students into their environments. These opportunities allow students to apply their learning in practical ways, develop employability skills, and reflect on where their passions might take them.

Sibling Enrolments

Looking ahead, I would like to encourage any families who have siblings or relatives considering enrolling at Servite to contact the College as soon as possible. Our enrolments for future years are nearing capacity, and we want to ensure that all prospective families within our current community have the opportunity to secure a place.

Community Events

I also want to thank those who joined us for our wonderful Mother’s Day celebration earlier this term. It was a joy to come together in recognition of the special women in our lives who offer so much love, care, and guidance. We are excited about the many upcoming events planned for the rest of the year, including our Community Quiz Night, Grandparents Day, Father’s Day celebrations, and various alumni reunions. These events highlight the strength of our community across generations, and we look forward to welcoming many of you on campus.

Masterplan Update

Another exciting development this term has been the opening of the first stage of our College’s master building plan. This included the unveiling of two new carparks, a modern maintenance facility, and a mini soccer pitch – all of which are already being well-utilised by students and staff.

We are now preparing for the next phase of development, with final plans currently under review by the College Council. These ongoing improvements reflect our commitment to providing contemporary learning spaces and infrastructure that support student wellbeing and growth.
