Italian on Campus Language Assistant

Topic Learning
Date June 7, 2023

We have been very lucky this term to host an Italian assistant, Patrizia.

Patrizia is a university student from Brescia, a city in northern Italy and has joined us as part of the “Italian Assistant Program”.

Patrizia has been helping our students with their conversation skills, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of the Italian language and culture. She is also assisting Language Staff with the creation of resources and team teaching.

Patrizia is also enjoying the opportunity to learn about our culture too, one of our students event taught her to play chess!

From Patrizia:

“Hello everyone! My name is Patrizia, I’m 27 and I come from Brescia, a city in northern Italy. I love animals, sports, cinema and art. I’m studying foreign languages at university and I would like to become a teach one day. For this reason, when I heard about the “Italian Assistant Teacher” program I immediately applied!

I have travelled to several countries in the past (France, Spain, UK, Germany, China, Egypt, Zanzibar…yes, I love travelling!) but this is my very first time in Australia, so I hope to learn more about your culture and in the meantime I will try to bring to you a little bit of my country and let you discover more the beauties of Italy!”

“Ciao a tutti!

Ho viaggiato in vari paesi in passato (Francia, Spagna, Regno Unito, Germania, Cina, Egitto, Zanzibar…
