Topic Stewardship
Date June 2, 2023

What an incredible term we have had so far. Our school has been abuzz with activity, incursions, excursions, expeditions, camps, competitions and much more! Our students have been involved in many learning opportunities all which I hope you have been keeping up with on our news page.

Please continue to keep an eye out on our News page as we aim to publish all the wonderful stories, photos and events as they occur. This will ensure our community is constantly updated.

Climate Survey

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for completing our Climate Survey. This survey gives us reliable and valuable feedback which enables us to reflect, discern and plan accordingly and I look forward to sharing the results with you. Thank you again.

Mother’s Day Breakfast

Thank you to the many mothers, grandmothers, aunts and maternal figures who joined us for our Mother’s Day breakfast. We had over 400 people attend and spend time reflecting on our mothers, our role as mothers and our amazing children. We are also looking forward to Grandparents Day and Father’s Day later in the year.

Thank you again for supporting this incredible community event.

New Uniform Policy

As you are aware this term has seen a change to our Uniform Policy. It is great to see our students enjoying the change and embracing individuality. The feedback from our students has been very positive; they are warm, comfortable and therefore ready to learn. We do ask parents to support us in ensuring students are choosing the correct wardrobe on the appropriate day. Our basic uniform is the standard, default wardrobe and students are permitted to wear the Sport wardrobe only on the days they have sport or dance. We thank all parents for their help with this new policy.

Second Hand Uniform Update

Second hand uniforms can now be sold on our new Buy, Swap & Sell Facebook page. If you haven’t already, you can join the group by clicking here. This will give our families more flexibility with selling their items.

This also means that second hand uniforms will no longer be sold through the Uniform Shop. Should you have any queries please contact the Uniform Shop directly.

Stock Update

We have the following update with regards to our stock:

  • Knitwear will be available from Tuesday afternoon
  • The following items are currently out of stock: Puffer Jackets in size Large, XL, 2XL and the Sports Hoodies in Small, Medium and Large
  • We are waiting on the following items to arrive: New Boys shirts; Boys and Girls Long Sleeve Shirt; Beanies and Scarves

We will endeavour to keep everyone updated and be in touch when stock is available.

What’s New on Campus!

This term we have continued with our campus upgrades. During the term break we finished our new College Reception, and I am sure you will agree it is now more accessible and very welcoming. For those who have not seen our new Reception area, you can find it on Cape Street close to the crosswalk. Please go there for all enrolment and fee matters.

Student Services is still in the same location and continues to be the location for student sign in / sign out; the College Nurse or to meet with a teacher / Head of Community.

The College recently purchased further land behind our Seven Holy Founders Centre beside the Uniform Shop. This has now sufficiently expanded our property to the point where we are able to finalise our 10 Year Masterplan.

The Masterplan will encompass innovative developments for the Morgan Street, Cape Street and Stoneham Street properties with a proposal for a Technologies Centre, Performing Arts Centre, a Chapel plus many other exciting learning spaces.

We look forward to consulting with our community throughout the planning process.

Atalanta BC Affiliation

This week we were very excited to announce our new exclusive affiliation with Atalanta BC. I am looking forward to sharing the details of our affiliation with those who have registered for Wednesday night. Please find details for the Parent Information night here.

This affiliation forms part of a larger extension to our sporting program. We aim to provide our students with an exciting range of opportunities ensuring they are always being challenged to excel.

ACC Cross Country

Congratulations to all members of the College’s 2023 ACC Cross Country team who participated this week. It was great to see students engaged, giving their best and supporting their fellow Servite students. We will be releasing results from the day shortly.

Enrolments

Servite College is rapidly becoming the College of choice in our local area. Could I please encourage those who have a sibling hoping to commence in the next few years to ensure their application is submitted ASAP.  It is wonderful to see so many people wanting to join our community and wouldn’t want siblings to miss out.

Could I also encourage those who have friends or family who are considering Servite College for their child to please enrol their child in Year 4.

2023 Celebrations & Alumni

In 2023 Servite College is celebrating a significant milestone! We are 65 Years as a College and also 50 Years as the first Co-Educational Catholic School in Western Australia. As we are the oldest Co-Educational Catholic School we will be planning a significant and exciting celebration for the end of year so stay tuned for more details!

We have also recently called for all Alumni to register via our Alumni form. Having these details will not only allow us to invite all Alumni back for our 50 Year Celebration but will assist in specific year group communications and reunions. If you are part of our Alumni and haven’t yet registered, you can do so by filling in the form here.

As outlined, this term has been a huge success and I look forward to an exciting and enjoyable rest of term.

Thank you and take care!
