Today we had a group of 12 Year 7 Students compete in The FUSE Cup Just Dance24 eSports State Competition at Methodist Ladies’ College. The vibe was electric as each student took their place on stage against the other teams to score as many points as possible with everyone getting behind them and cheering them on!
Students danced with the aim to get the maximum score possible for their team. This taught the students a valuable lesson in teamwork which is one of The FUSE Cup’s values, along with integrity, strength and inclusion.
The Servite College teams danced incredibly and all progressed into the Semi-finals with two teams getting through to the Grand Final, which was out of the four remaining teams!
After a long day of dancing and a tough battle, one of our Servite teams came through as the overall Runners Up for the day! congratulations to Shayla (OLS7), Michelle (OLS3), Jessica (OLS4) and Vianna (OLS7).
Congratulations also goes to Violet (SE5) who was awarded the Solo Champion of the day, meaning she had accumulated the most individual points across the day, of all students from all schools participating!
The FUSE Cup is proud to be in partnership with Australia’s eSafety Commissioner and Kids Helpline. Throughout the day there were valuable lessons learnt about eSports and gaming, how to be safe online. Besides getting to dance and have fun with friends, and encourage positive connections with other schools, the message and goal for students on the day was to aim to improve online safety and further raising awareness for students, while helping younger gamers have safer and more positive experiences online.
