During Week 7 and 8 – Year 11 and 12 students involved in the Workplace Learning Program commenced their first placement. Students were involved in a range of different industries from automotive, beauty, childcare, education, retail, hospitality, surveying and building and construction.
The Workplace Learning Program aims to give student opportunities to see and experience firsthand the skills required for that workplace. Students work towards completing 55 hours across the two-week block, which then can be used towards achieving WACE.
This program would not be possible if not for our generous host employers that give their time and expertise to our students. We really appreciate the community support and thank you for the opportunity.
A very big thank you to Mrs Sarita Rodricks for her work in securing placements and liaising with host employers to make this program such a success.
Finally, to the students, well done on a great effort in giving it a go and representing Servite College with pride. We hope you all have taken something away from this experience.
