Year 8 Incursion

On Tuesday this week the Year 8 Italian students were treated to an interactive workshop on Commedia dell’Arte delivered by an outstanding artist, Giovanni Margio.

Students learned about the fascinating history of this incredible art form which is practised all over the world and has influenced many forms of drama and theatre and even popular culture like The Simpsons.

Giovanni demonstrated the use of movement, voice and space and how with simple props like masks and props a character can be created and given life. Credit must be given to students for their excellent behaviour and we commend the students that showed courage in performing “all’improvviso” in front of their peers.
